Kastel was born in Oslo. Our office is still here — in Sagene, between river paths, textile history, and the ever-changing Norwegian weather that inspires every shoe we make.

To answer that, we asked the one who’s been here since the start: our founder and designer, Andreas Malo Dyb.

“We would be Hønse-Lovisas hus in Sagene.
It’s a fresh country chic vibe in central Oslo. It is also located in the original industrial center of Oslo, where yarn and textile production started.
And of course, Kastel HQ is there, so it’s one of our go-to places!”
🍽 If Kastel were a restaurant…
“It would for sure be Apostrophe near Rathkes Plass.
It’s as down-to-earth as fine dining can get.
Amazing atmosphere, food, and people. Comfort for all the senses!”

“Vigelandsparken, for sure!
A perfect mix of nature and culture — just the way we like it.”
🛝 If Kastel were a playground…
“Byen i Skyen in Middelalderparken.
It’s one of the few playgrounds made of wood and not all plastic.
The nostalgia will surely make even adults tempted to release their inner child in one of the tree houses.”

“It would be Bygdøy.
