Scandinavian Summer, Surf & Shoes — On the Road with Helene Olafsen & Tiril Eckhoff

When two of Norway’s most beloved personalities take Kastel shoes on a surf trip, you know it’s going to be something special.

This summer, we invited Helene Olafsen and Tiril Eckhoff to co-create a campaign that reflects what Scandinavian summers are all about — spontaneous, earthy, warm, and sometimes unpredictable. Together, they explored the wild coastal beauty of Stavanger wearing their favorite Kastel shoes.

The day began with a walk along the road, soaking in the natural surroundings and coastal energy — both wearing Kampen, our modular sneaker with interchangeable color patches.

In the afternoon, things slowed down. Helene and Tiril sat by the shore, watching the waves and planning their surf session for the next day. You can almost feel the wind and the salty air in those images, right? We especially love the pairing of a chunky wool knit with the Sagene sneakers — if you ask us, that’s Scandinavian summer in a nutshell.

Later, dressed for an evening under the sky, the two matched in Stavern slip-ons made from light summer wool — soft, laid-back, and perfect for dinner al fresco. And of course, it wouldn’t be a proper summer getaway without a quick swim in the sea.

Norwegian summers might not always be the warmest, but if you ask Helene and Tiril, they’re definitely the coziest.
