"Very good shoes. Felt a little big in size, the insoles to go down 1/2 size is a good idea. Since it is very mild weather, the shoes have not been used very much yet. Very nice with the "gaiters" which provide good protection when you have bare calves ;), and to keep snow and wind out and not least when playing outside with children. Have received good feedback on appearance. Cool shoes."

Innovations

Nature Lab is our initiative to research, test and develop shoes in a more sustainable way. This shoe uses the following innovations:

Name:Nature Lab
Goal:Sustainable innovation

#1 – Modularity

At Kastel, we believe one shoe can do more. By designing modular components—like the removable shaft on Kollen—we make shoes that adapt to your needs. Add warmth and coverage when needed. Remove it when you don’t. This is just the beginning of how we’re rethinking footwear to extend use, reduce waste, and keep you comfortable through it all.

#2 – Size Insert

These shoes come with a size insert, designed to improve fit and reduce returns. Offering half sizes helps, but it also creates stock and production challenges. Instead, we developed a size insert that adjusts the fit by half a size, ensuring a better fit without extra production. If a shoe feels slightly off, this simple solution makes it just right.
